The accordion is an amazing instrument, providing the portability of a piano with the tonal range of a Bontempi organ. But it is no exaggeration to say that, in the wrong hands (the hands of accordionists, for instance) the accordion is capable of destroying all music as we know it. It is important therefore to create safe spaces where musicians need not worry that, at any moment, the air will be sucked from the room and then expelled to create the noise made by a platoon of industrial bagpipes.
